A spotlight on some fantastic fundraising efforts

Here at Simon on the Streets, we never tire of talking about just how much your fundraising efforts mean to our charity. The difference you make is phenomenal, and every single day we see different people doing different things to support a cause that they care about.

From birthday fundraisers and office bake sales, to raising sponsorship through sporting events and quiz nights - there really is no end to the generosity we see. Here we’re putting a spotlight on just a few of the people and companies who have really gone the extra mile to help those facing homelessness.

Richard Michie - The Marketing Optimist

A long-time supporter of Simon on the Streets, Richard Michie of The Marketing Optimist continues to show up for us time and again. Most recently, he invited our CEO, Natalie Moran, to be the speaker at his event ‘Get to the Point’. This event is such a great idea, allowing speakers five minutes to cover 20 PowerPoint Slides - that equates to around 15 seconds per slide - and get to the point. Natalie was able to showcase the work that we do, and encourage people to get involved. Not only that, the event raised a brilliant £320 for Simon on the Streets.

Beyond this, Richard continues his support by regularly attending our events, from Simon’s Big Sleep Out to our corporate socials. His support on social media is also invaluable, as every single share, like and comment makes a difference.

DUSK

As the main sponsor of last year’s Simon’s Big Sleep Out, we were so lucky to have DUSK on board. For every person who signed up to take part, DUSK donated a duvet and pillow bundle to a homeless accommodation provider in Leeds. In addition, 15 members of their team took part in the Sleep Out, raising over £2000 for Simon on the Streets as a result.

Following Simon’s Big Sleep Out, their support has continued, with our outreach team still providing donated DUSK duvets to those facing homelessness.

Tattu

What can we say about Tattu? They’ve been the perfect hosts for a number of our corporate socials, providing delicious food and a beautiful space at their Leeds restaurant.

Tattu chose to support Simon on the Streets throughout 2022, and by the end of it they’d managed to raise a whopping £19, 675. We know the difference that this money will make to the lives of those facing homelessness, and we really couldn’t be more grateful.

Sett Mortgages

Elliot Benson, owner of Sett Mortgages, is another of our supporters we can always rely on. Sponsoring a number of our events, including our annual corporate golf event Simon on the Tee and the Starlight Ball, his support has been incredible.

It’s always a pleasure to see Elliot at our events, which is yet another way he continues to get involved with the work that we do.

As you can see, generosity isn’t in short supply. Despite turbulent and uncertain economic times, we’re still seeing people and companies go out of their way to raise funds, provide support and donate.

Whether you’re an individual or a business, there are so many ways to give, and so many ways to get involved. Why not sign up to our regular newsletter to stay in the know about our upcoming events?
